The Joy of Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Sun, 03/30/2008 - 18:26.Hi there everyone,
So the research is in (not that we pet lovers didn't already know it), that people are healthier, and live longer when their is an animal around.
The Toronto Star states " simply petting a dog or cat can lower blood pressure, heart rate, and anxiety levels ".
Pets being brought into retirement and nursing homes have had great results with Alzheimer's disease. In one case in particular a gentleman who did not communicate with anyone starting speaking to a small puppy that was brought into the home.
Energy Healing for Your Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 15:05.Hello there everyone,
We all know that the body has a natural way of healing itself. The Purple Circle helps increase this rate of natural healing by renewing, revitalizing and rejuvenating your pet.
In today's day and age both our pets, and ourselves are faced with a variety of issues that can be detrimental to our pets well being.
In Loving Memory of our Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Sun, 03/16/2008 - 21:01.Hi there everyone,
Well, it is hard to believe that it has been a year since the pet food recall. Although it was painful, it was also filled with joy. When death seemed to hover over, the sunlight burst thru the next morning. When I didn't think Ishka would make it for another day that other day came like a gift in the mail.
An experience like this represents the yling and the yang, the pain and the joy, all at one time. This is the best time to learn, and to grow.
The Pet Food Recall - One year Anniversary
Submitted by Cheryl on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 22:19.Hello everyone,
I have been off line for the last week or so due to the passing of a dear friend. I again have learned so much with respect to caring and taking care of the sick, and again I have learned one of the most important lessons thru the pet food recall and the animals.
What have we hopefully learned over this last year?.
Hopefully we have learned that we need to be our own researchers and to take responsibility into our own hands, as the powers that be are incapable of really protecting our pets as they may like you to believe.
Natural Healing for Cats and Dogs
Submitted by Cheryl on Wed, 03/05/2008 - 13:45.Hello everyone,
As I have mentioned before, whenever an animal is sick, it will go into the forest and search for whatever plant is needed in order to deal with the problem. Whether it is stomach, contipation there is a plant for all ailments.
This brings me to the topic of natural remedies. Sometimes, if an animal is needing a little help to balance, there are alot of natural remedies to consider rather than using medication.
Kidney Dsease in Cats and Dogs
Submitted by Cheryl on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 15:53.Hi there everyone,
So back on the topic of kidney disease which seems to be running rampant not only with our pets but also pet parents.
I have been reviewing Ishka's records since 1995 when her kidneys started to crystalize. The signs were the same as they were during the pet food poisoning which is frequent urinating, in every spot other than the litter box.
This behaviour change is to let us know that something is up with our pet, moreso than a behavioural problem. An animals cry for help in otherwords.
Kidney Crystals
Submitted by Cheryl on Sat, 03/01/2008 - 13:59.Hello everyone,
I know that we have touched on this issue before, however, I would like to remind everyone that when a pet is diagnosed with crystals on the kidneys, the first thing that most vets will suggest for you to do is to put your pet on a low protein diet.
Cats moreso than dogs are carniverous. So knowing this why would you consider a low protein diet when in the wild cats eat raw meat, the highest protein they can get.
Cloning - A Crime against Nature
Submitted by Cheryl on Fri, 02/22/2008 - 19:42.Hello everyone,
Well, we have been hearing more and more about not only the cloning of our food source, but now the cloning of our pets.
On CBS News today, they reported that it is now possible to clone our pets thru a company called RNL Bio, based in Seoul South Korea.
Now, pet owners are able to clone their pets for a mere $150,000
dollars. Yes, you read it right.....only $150,000 dollars.
There is apparently only a 25% chance of getting a cloned pet, however, it enables you to have the same pet for your whole life.
Why we Love our Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Tue, 02/19/2008 - 19:00.Hi there everyone,
A friend of mine just sent me this on the diffference between our pets and our children. This is very cute and true.
1. They eat less
2. They don't ask for money
3. They're easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't smoke or drink
7. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
8. Don't want to wear your clothes
9. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college
10.If they get pregnant you can sell their children.
And last but not least, they love us unconditionally.
Oh how we Love our pets!
Have a great day
Cheryl
Vacinating our Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Sun, 02/17/2008 - 19:53.Hello everyone,
In many conversations with pet parents who have pets that are living into their late teens and late 20's. I have realized that they all have two things in common.
The first is that they are being fed either a raw diet or human scraps, not commercial Pet Junk Food that we are brain washed to believe it is something that it isn't.
Secondly, they do not give their pets (especially indoor cats), yearly vacinations.
They give them the shots that are needed when they are young, but then after that, they are on their own and they allow nature to take it's course.
When our Cats and Dogs get Sick
Submitted by Cheryl on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 18:41.Hello everyone,
Anyone who has gone thru the experience of a sick pet knows what I am talking about when I say that you are beside yourself with what to do.
The first thing, and I believe it is one of the most important, is to try to stay as balanced as possible. With respect to energy animals will pick up our emotional anxiety.
The behaviour of our pets gives us the first sign that they are not feeling well.
Pay attention to thesse signs, and try not to rationalize them, as it could be something serious, and this is how our pets communicate.
Cat Gas
Submitted by Cheryl on Fri, 02/15/2008 - 15:44.Hi everyone,
Well, dealing with cat gas, is a difficult situation, especially due to the fact that the only way that it can be determined is thru an x-ray.
Physically all may be well. Blood work could be normal, yet when a cat has gas, there is no eating, no bowel movements, and they are nauseeous. You may think that it is constipation as well. However, if your pet isn't eating it is highly unlikely that it is constipation.
It almost seems very similar to kidney problems one would think. However when the kidneys are functioning normally it's a mystery until the x-rays are done.
Physical Abnormalities in our Pets
Submitted by Cheryl on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 16:51.Hi there everyone,
I remember a couple of months ago when I heard about a rabbit with 4 ears on CNN. Instead of questioning why this would occur, everyone was just admiring the rabbit, and saying how cute it was.
I don't know about you, but I look at this as a warning signal for us. I know that we have instances like this in the human population, but why isn't anyone asking Why?.
Today, the latest is a kitten with 2 faces. Two eyes two mouths and
Two noses. In Washington, there is a young cat with 5 legs.
I guess one could ask the question, is it due to Nature, or Nurture?.

Menu Foods Price Increase
Submitted by Cheryl on Tue, 02/05/2008 - 17:10.Hello everyone,
Read an article to day on two different sites stating that Menu Foods will be increasing their price of wet pet food, also known as Junk Pet Food. The very same food that affected and caused the deaths of many of our pets.
I didn't think that I could get more upset with Menu until I read this article.
Menu states that " while costs continue to rise, the price increase will enable Menu to recover from private label customers, the cost increases it would otherwise be required to obsorb ".
This will reportedly increase sales by more than 3%.
