Hi everyone,

I often hear from people who will say that it is soon going to cost as much to feed your pet as it is to feed a child.

I have to say that I actually have been finding the opposite. Since the Pet Food Recall by Menu Foods, most owners are struggling with what to feed their pets when in fact the best thing, and I find the cheapest is to switch to a natural high protein diet.

I weened Ishka off of the Junk pet food, and now that she has adjusted to a variety of natural foods she will not even eat the canned food, regardless of how much it costs.

Well, living in Ontario, Canada we definitely see our share of snow and salt.

This brings me to your dogs salty paws. Sidewalk salt can harm dogs
by irritating tender dog pads. The best thing to do is trim back
the hair between your dog's toes, and wipe paws with a damp cloth then a dry one.

A natural alternative which I prefer is to use sand rather than salt on your front walk.

This definitely makes for a happier and healthier pet.

I love this quote from Edmund Burke who said " all that is needed for evil to prosper is for people of good will to do nothing ".

It doesn't matter what you do to create a healthy enviroment for our pets, the bottom line is to just do something.

If you think that there are problems in the world, don't wait for someone eles to solve them , solve them yourselves.

Let us return to the price we pay for supporting the Junk Pet food industry.

According to Dr. Tom Lonsdale who has been on a crusade now for 15 years to bring this truth to light, "Failure of democratic, administrative and legal systems-whether due to oversight, incompetence or corruption-facilitates the junk pet food scam ".

Despite the scientific evidence, and both the moral and ethical problems associated with duping the public into believing that these companies have your pet's best interest at heart, our politicians and lawyers have done little about it.

Everyone who has their ear to the ground as they say, realize what is happening in the pet industry. However, sometimes it seems that no matter what you do, or no matter who you tell about it, nothing appears to be changing.

I believe that the Truth is starting to surface. The light is shining on these manufactureres who say that they have the best interst of our pets at heart, when in fact their actions show otherwise. I remember a saying when I was a kid and that was "actions speak louder than words ".

I was just thinking about the film a Dog's Breakfast and couldn't believe the one scene where one of the Vets made a concoction of Crude oil for fat content, wood chips for fibre, and leather boots for protein. The amazing thing about this is that when this concoction was made up it was tested.

Well guess what. When the results came back it passed for premium dog food. How scary is that!

I actually tried to email menu foods after the documentary but
their website was temporarily down. How convenient.

Just finished watching this doc. on the Pet Food Recall and it was brilliant.

I hope that all pet lovers were able to see it, and I thank my vet.

According to Dr. Tom Lonsdale, " broadly there are three methodologies combine to form the scientific paradigm that underpins the junk pet food enterprise ".

The first of these, as I have mentioned before is the emphasis on treatment rather than preventative. (sounds like the medical association as well). Once the Junk Pet Food is removed from the diet you will see a huge change in your pet.

When we continue to believe the pet food-veterinarian alliance there is a price we pay. Instead of doing our own research we believe that this alliance has our best interest at heart.

Now, I am not sitting here and bashing our great vets that have the skill and percision to operate on our furry friends when they are injured or sick. I am just suggesting to again look at the cause of these illnesses so that we can prevent them, rather than waiting until it arrives at your door.
